Romania have topped Group E while Slovakia will qualify as one of the best third placed teams. Their positions in the table also mean that they will be on the opposite side to Germany, Spain, France and Portugal.
Ondrej Duda was not in the dressing room to hear about the plans for both sides to draw 0-0 so they could both qualify as he put Slovakia ahead in the 24th minute.
Kucka's brilliant cross into the box landed at the head of the shortest player in there which resulted in him nodding it into the bottom right hand corner past Florin Niță.
After brilliant work from Ianis Hagi and a VAR decision, Romania managed to level things up from the penalty spot when Răzvan Marin smashed it into the top left corner.
It was good play from Hagi to win the penalty as he tempted Dávid Hancko into a mistimed challenge on the edge of the box. The referee originally gave a free kick for the Romanians and then VAR decided the crucial contact was on the line of the box which changed the decision to a penalty.
It is only the second time Romania have qualified for the knockouts of the Euros with the last time being in 2000 when they historically beat England 3-2.
