The Italian replaces Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino who left at the end of the season by mutual consent after just a single season at the Blues.
Maresca managed Leicester City to the championship title to bring them back into the Premier League after a one year absence.
The Italians first managerial job ended after just 180 days in 2021 with Parma after he only picked up 4 wins from 14 games.
He then moved on to manage Manchester City’s under 23 side before working as Pep Guardiola’s assistant in 2022.
The Chelsea players not on international duty will return to Pre-season on July 4th as they head to the United States for their first friendly against Wrexham on July 24th.
