After Ipswich Town's relegation from the Premier League, Chelsea triggered a release clause in the striker's contract, paving the way for the 22-year-old to feature in the upcoming Club World Cup, set to begin on June 14 in the United States.
The Blues' first game will be against Mexican side Club León on June 16 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Enzo Maresca's side beat the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Everton to secure the England Under-21 international's signature.
In his first season in the top flight, Delap scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists in 37 Premier League appearances for the Tractor Boys.
The forward is a product of the Manchester City academy and had loan spells at Stoke City, Preston North End, and Hull City before being sold to Ipswich for £20 million in 2024.
