The Reds have enjoyed a productive pre-season so far, recording emphatic wins over local neighbours Three Bridges (5–0) and Isthmian South East outfit East Grinstead (5–1). Their only setback came in a 3–1 defeat to Scottish Premiership side Hearts in their opening fixture.
New signing Louis Flower, formerly of Brighton & Hove Albion, has made an immediate impact—scoring in all three matches—and will be looking to extend his streak against the Daggers.
Interestingly, manager Scott Lindsey has opted to field strong starting line-ups throughout pre-season, making minimal use of trialists as he aims to build cohesion and sharpness ahead of the new campaign.
One player who has particularly caught the eye of Crawley fans is Danny Cashman, who joined from Worthing earlier this summer. The 24-year-old has impressed with his intelligent movement and excellent technical ability.
A Crawley native, Cashman can operate across the front line but has primarily featured on the left wing under Lindsey so far.
The Opponents: Dagenham & Redbridge
Dagenham & Redbridge have enjoyed a positive week off the pitch, announcing new Qatari investors and completing the high-profile signing of former Liverpool and West Ham striker Andy Carroll.
Following a turbulent 2024/25 season that ended in relegation from the National League, the Daggers appear determined to mount an immediate promotion push—signalling their intent with the marquee addition of Carroll.
The 36-year-old spent last season in the French fourth tier with Bordeaux, where he scored 11 goals in 21 appearances. Over the course of his career, the former England international has amassed 405 appearances, 100 goals, and 33 assists.
Carroll isn't the only familiar name who could feature against Crawley. Former Reds midfielder Rafiq Khaleel is also available for selection, adding extra intrigue to the fixture.
In the dugout, Dagenham are led by Lee Bradbury, who served as Crawley's assistant manager between 2019 and 2022. He was part of the coaching team that famously oversaw the Reds' FA Cup victory over Premier League side Leeds United. Bradbury was appointed Daggers boss last month, tasked with leading the club into a new era.
The last time these two sides met was back in 2016, when Dagenham & Redbridge secured a 3–0 win over Crawley. Both clubs have undergone significant change since then, setting the stage for an intriguing pre-season encounter at Victoria Road
