Dominant Arsenal concede late as Liverpool progress in the FA cup

Arsenal conceded two late after a dominant performance to get knocked out of the Fa cup by Liverpool. Luis Diaz secured the victory when he scored in the 95th minute to make the score 2-0. His thunderbolt came 15 minutes after Jakub Kiwior flicked in a Liverpool corner into his own net. 

The Gunners had plenty of chances that they failed to capitalise on in the first half with the home side almost scoring inside three minutes. Reiss Nelson managed to take the ball around Alisson but his heavy touch pushed him wide meaning he was only able to find the side netting from his shot. Nelson had another chance minutes later which was deflected wide of the far post. 

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard smashed his shot against the crossbar after a poor pass from Joe Gomez and Ben White forced Alisson into another save after a perfectly struck strike. Kai Havertz who played as a single forward had his tame effort saved by the Brazillian goalkeeper after he took too long to take the shot. Havertz also had his header bounce past the wrong side of the post which summed up Arsenal's first half. 

Liverpool's closest  chance in the first half came when their captain Trent Alexander-Arnold rattled the crossbar on the verge of halftime. However after a poor first half from the visitors, their game soon improved after the 15 minute break. Liverpool started brightly when Darwin Nunez cut inside and had his shot go wide of the far post. Diaz also had a good effort when his low shot was saved by Aaron Ramsdale out for a corner. From that resulting corner Diogo Jota rised above everyone else and hit the crossbar again for Liverpool. 

Arsenal could have easily won this game if they took their chances but it was Liverpool who were more clinical than the home side. The home side saw more of the ball as they had 55 percent possession and had 18 shots with only five of them being on target. Liverpool managed to get 12 shots with three of them being on target as they stole the show late on to progress into the fourth round of the Fa cup.
