The exciting young winger, who turned 20 last week, spent the second half of last season at Crawley Town, where he quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his energy, creativity, and eye for goal.
Doyle joined Crawley in January 2024 and made an immediate impact, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in just 21 appearances. He consistently impressed with his technical quality and attacking flair, standing out in a difficult campaign that ultimately ended in relegation for the Reds.
His standout moment in a Crawley shirt came in Scott Lindsey's second game back in charge, when he scored a brilliant brace in a 4-0 win over Rotherham United, helping to briefly reignite momentum at a crucial point in the season.
Across the 2023–24 campaign, Doyle made 45 appearances in total during spells with Exeter City and Crawley, finishing with 11 goals and five assists in League One. His performances turned heads across the division and earned him another opportunity to test himself at this level.
A product of the Southampton academy, Doyle joined Brighton 18 months ago and was named on the bench in their 2–2 draw at St Mary's on Saturday - a return to his former club.
With his loan to Reading now confirmed, Doyle will be aiming for consistent game time and further progress in his development. Crawley fans will no doubt be keeping a close eye as the talented winger continues his journey, with hopes of breaking through at Brighton in the years to come.
