It was a challenging win for the Germans who managed to keep a clean sheet but manager  Julian Nagelsmann will be asking questions at his defence after too many mistakes were made. None the less the Germans have progressed and if they remain top of their group, they will face the runner up of Group C which England are in.

Jamal Musiala got on the score sheet once again to get his second goal of the tournament when he opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Willi Orbán originally took the ball away from the danger zone but tripped and lost out to İlkay Gündoğan who cut it back for Musiala to smash it off the underside of the crossbar and into the back of the net.

Gündoğan who assisted the first, got on the scoresheet himself to secure Germany the three points and a place in the knockouts.

It was a good period of play from the Germans where Toni Kroos played a first time pass into Musiala who knocked it out wide which landed at the feet of Maximilian Mittelstädt who then played a low cross into the box and put it on a plate for  Gündoğan who swept it past Péter Gulácsi.

Hungary did get chances and one particularly caused a lot of chaos in the dying minutes. Manuel Neuer spilled a long punt forward and Martin Ádám then had his shot saved off the line by Joshua Kimmich.
