Nunez helps Liverpool progress into the next round of the Carabao Cup
Darwin Nunez came on as a substitute to win the game for Liverpool in the south coast whilst also battling against the torrential rain and heavy winds down on the south coast. His incredible strike put Liverpool into the next round of the Carabao cup after a difficult 2:1 win against Bournemouth.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for the reds in the 31st minute when he smashed the ball past Radu after a half-cleared corner. Bournemouth's dutch winger Kluivert equalised in the 64th minute from Alex Scott's teasing corner Before Darwin Nunez put Liverpool back in front with his scintillating finish. Liverpool were able to hold off a fighting Cherries side who put up a strong fight in the second half.
Justin Kluivert looked to open the scoring early on with a low curling effort which caused some trouble for Irish keeper Kelleher who was forced to produce a double save to claim the loose ball.
Harvey Elliot smartly slid in Mo Salah with a perfect through pass who had drifted slightly offside to give the Bournemouth defence a warning.
The horrendous weather did not stop the singing away fans from enjoying their evening 260 miles away from home.
Elliot and Szoboszlai almost gave the travellers something to cheer about before Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for the reds.
After Elliot powerfully struck into a filled penalty area after a half-cleared corner , the Bournemouth players lost sight of the ball as Gakpo smashed it into the back of the net after his saved header.

Alex Scott looked to get Bournemouth back on level terms early in the second half with his strike that flew over the bar. Bournemouth used the weather to their advantage to press the visitors in their own half high up the pitch which created chance after chance.
Scott came agonisingly close again when his in-swinging corner helped by the wind was headed off the line by Joe Gomez.
With Liverpool struggling to play against the poor conditions, Jurgen Klopp opted to bring on Nunez, Alexander Arnold and Mac allister in order to try and find a second.
Semenyo should have equalised for the home side but shot wide from close range before Tavernier forced Kelleher to produce a strong save.
Liverpool forgot to recognise the danger as Scott delivered another dangerous corner which reached a free Kluivert who nodded it home from inside the six yard box to make the game level after 64 minutes.

Nunez put his side back in front with an incredible curling strike with his right foot after an original poor first bad touch which led his run astray. He rustled the top right hand corner of the net with his first goal in the competition.
Liverpool were forced to dig deep in order to come out eventual winners with Bournemouth's spirit not dampening. It almost happened for the home side late on when Brooks striked late on hitting Radu and ending the cherries chances of progressing.
