Man city head into the break with a slim lead against Tottenham
Man city edge Tottenham Hotspur as they head into the break at the Etihad Stadium. An own goal from Heung-Min Son and a fourth premier goal for Foden gave the Citizens a deserved 2-1 lead.
Son gave Tottenham an early lead in the sixth minute but scored an own goal three minutes later to make it one goal a piece. Phil Foden scored from close range in the 31st minute to put Man city 2-1 up.
The home side dominated the first half with 63 percent possession, creating 12 shots with two being on target. Injury struck spurs struggled to play their entertaining football that they started the season with as they managed to get two shots in the first half.
Summer signing Jeremy Doku once again proved his worth for the champions as he was a nuisance down the left hand side making it difficult for Pedro Porro to contain the Belgian.
Erling Haaland should have been on the scoresheet when he hit his shot wide from close range to everyone's disbelief and the Norwegian had another chance which he skied over the bar.
