The 25-year-old has committed to a five-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional year.

This marks manager Ruben Amorim's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon.

Mbeumo's transfer concludes one of the longest-running negotiations of the transfer window, coming seven weeks after United submitted their first bid for the Cameroon international.

United's third offer, valued at £65 million upfront plus £6 million in add-ons, was accepted last week.

"Joining Manchester United, the club I dreamed of growing up supporting, was an opportunity I couldn't pass up," Mbeumo said.

The winger is set to join the squad for the club's pre-season tour of the United States starting Thursday.

Since moving from Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has scored 70 goals and provided 51 assists in 242 appearances for Brentford. Last season, he hit career highs with 20 Premier League goals and seven assists.

His transfer sets a new record for Brentford as their biggest ever sale, surpassing the £40 million fee Al-Ahli paid for Ivan Toney in August 2024.
