It took 77 minutes for Ukraine to register a shot on target at the Romanian goal with the Tricolorii putting in a solid defensive display.
After a nerve racking first 25 minutes, Romania soon got into the game and since the first goal they looked in control much to the fans delight with Tottenham centre back Radu Drăgușin helping his side keep a clean sheet.
Romania brilliantly found the breakthrough in the 29th minute against the run of play. Andriy Lunin's clearance from a back pass only went as far as Dennis Man who switched it perfectly into the run of Nicolae Stanciu who hit it first time and into the top corner of the net.
Răzvan Marin and Denis Drăguș then added a second and third for Romania. First Marin's long range strike creeped below Lunin into the back of the net and then Drăguș turned in a cross from Man into an empty net four minutes later to give Romania a comfortable lead inside 60 minutes.
